Deutsch ohne Grenzen Fourth Edition
Imaginez is designed to provide intermediate French students with an active and rewarding learning experience as they strengthen their language skills and develop their cultural competency. Imaginez takes an interactive, communicative approach. It focuses on real communication in meaningful contexts to develop and consolidate students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Since Imaginez takes a communicative approach to the teaching of French, the Communications Goal is an integral part of the student text. Diverse activity formats promote authentic communicative exchanges in which students provide, obtain, and interpret information, as well as express emotions or opinions.
Imaginez also stresses cultural competency and the ability to make connections as invaluable components of language learning. The Court Métrage, Imaginez, Culture, and Littérature sections all provide students with the opportunity to acquire information, expand cultural knowledge, and recognize distinctive viewpoints. Through connections with multiple disciplines such as film, literature, and art, students are exposed to various cultural practices, products, and perspectives of French speakers.
Fully integrated with the textbook, the Imaginez film collection features dramatic short films created by francophone filmmakers. The films are a central feature of the lesson, providing opportunities to review and recycle vocabulary from the Pour commencer section, and previewing and contextualizing the grammar from the Structures section. These films offer entertaining and thought-provoking opportunities for building skills and increasing cultural knowledge of the francophone world.
As a specialized publisher, we focus on what we love and do best—developing world language materials that get instructors and students as excited about language and culture as we are.
